This was me last Saturday night, enjoying the last flickers of my LED hoop (not a glowstick, as subcaptioned) before the battery completely died. MoNo was a hooping dream. […]

do something good

As many of you know, I have a parent who is fighting a battle with ALS.  Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a devastating neurodegenerative disease, and those who live with the disease become progressively paralyzed due to degeneration of the upper and lower motor neurons in brain and spinal cord.  […]

yay!

I hope your weekend was as good as mine.  First hoop jam of the year, and the weather was even better than I expected - and the turnout was fantastic.

still making hoops (canadian style 2.0)

A few months ago I wrote a post about my adventures in trying to find the correct ingredients for assembling a hoop, with the catch being that I live in Canada.  Sure, we have free health care, but our access to commonly used hoop-making items SUCKS.   Along the way, I know I’m not the only […]

junior hoop practice

My hoop practice yesterday was interrupted by a junior hooper who just loves the camera.  If only I had the kind of perseverance that she does when it comes to dropping the hoop and picking it up time and time again.  She could have kept on going for hours!

happy freedom day!

diy hula hoops (canadian style, part two)

step one

I recently posted about my adventures in finding the right kind of tubing for diy hula hoops. After having several friends ask me how to do it, I did a very short photo tutorial - and by short, I mean six photos. I really didn’t see the point in reinventing the […]

led hoop!

Thanks to the smart little geniuses at Prodmod, I made my first LED hoop yesterday!  I ordered the kit from them shortly before Christmas, as a distraction from all of the nuttiness that Christmas was throwing at me, and I finally got around to buying the tubing yesterday.  I have to give huge thumbs up […]

ugh.

I had the worst night at hoop class.  It was our last class until the end of January, and I was totally jonesing for my hoop fix.  With all of the company and madness of the holidays, I didn’t have a chance to pick up a hoop for over a week.  I think everything would […]
